Who can avail Free Supply Facility

The Authority has been pleased to streamline the procedure of availing free electricity facility by WAPDA employees with immediate effect as under:-

1.WAPDA Employees appointed on contract basis are allowed Free Electricity facility at place of posting during service period as per the prescribed ceiling. However, they will not be entitled to this facility after the expiry of contract period because the expiry of contract does not mean retirement

Deputationists to WAPDA are allowed Free Electricity facility at place of posting during deputation period only and shall be discontinued on their repatriation. However, those who are retiring from WAPDA having completed 10 years continuous deputation period shall be entitled to avail 50% of the prescribed ceiling.

WAPDA employees serving on deputation with in Pakistan will be entitled to avail Free Electricity as per the prescribed ceiling but the cost will be born by the borrowing Agency/Department OR according to terms and conditions deputation.

The deputationist serving abroad shall not be entitled to free supply of electricity.

Free Electricity facility upto 50% of the ceiling is allowed for life time or till remarriage to the widows of deceased regular WAPDA employees who die while in service and eligible for family pension of gratuity. In case of death/remarriage of widows this concession will be extended to the minor real children of the deceased employees up to 18 years in case of last minor son and 21 years in case of minor daughter or her marriage whichever is earlier.

Those widows who are not eligible for family pension will be allowed 50% free electricity concession for a period of 10 years of upto the age of superannuation of the deceased employee which ever is earlier or till remarriage of the widow.
